Lacey VanderJagt
Director of Conservation
Lacey VanderJagt has spent the last decade conserving artworks in the US, Europe, North Africa, and Asia. Her capabilities encompass paintings, works on paper, books, textiles, 3D objects, and furniture, and she has developed a specialty in the conservation of books and manuscripts. Lacey is also a certified framer.
While receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, an art professor encouraged Lacey to enter the field of conservation. She went on to apprentice at the Scuola Lorenzo de’Medici in Florence, Italy, where she completed her certification in art conservation.
Lacey encourages her clients to tell her their artwork’s story. When she fully understands the history of the piece and its meaning to her client, she is ready to craft a plan of conservation that is appropriate for that piece and the context in which it will be experienced. Lacey’s clients come away feeling that she has helped them to restore not only their treasured item, but its history and meaning.
Brian Adams
CEO
The Art Conservancy is owned and operated by Brian Adams, a serial entrepreneur with a knack for getting things done.
In his nearly two decades as an executive in both the garment and refurbishment industries, Brian has successfully launched a pick-up and delivery laundry service, a T-shirt printing business, and a garment and electronics restoration business (growing the latter from zero sales and one employee, to millions in sales and more than 100 employees). In addition, to the above, he has launched a successfully growing retail corrections business.
Brian’s success has helped him earn a coveted spot on Inc. Magazine’s 30 under 30, the US Leaders and Entrepreneurs 2010 Outstanding Leadership Award, and a slot on The Inc 500 (an annually published list of the 500 fastest-growing private companies in the United States) four years in a row.
Brian launched The Art Conservancy out of a passion for repairing and restoring damaged products to their original pre-damaged condition.. Today, The Art Conservancy. helps countless clients in the garment and apparel industries correct flaws in their products, and deal with the technical difficulties of modern-day logistics.
